The St. Louis Civic Orchestra is composed of musicians from the St. Louis metro area.  We rehearse Tuesday nights September through April from 7:30 to 9:30 at the Parkway South High School Orchestra Room at 801 Hanna Rd, Manchester, MO 63021

Main auditions for the Civic are held each fall, but we also hold auditions throughout the year, as needed. The Civic provides a good performance outlet for serious musicians and accomplished amateurs alike.

The date to audition for the 2023-24 season is Tuesday, August 29 at 6:30 pm at St Paul’s Evangelical Church 9801 Olive Blvd, Saint Louis, MO  63141. Please stay tuned for updates.  

We are especially looking for musicians in the following areas: 

  • Principal Second Violin
  • Principal Trombone
  • Fourth French horn
  • Strings, (all sections – Violin, Viola, Cello, and especially Double Bass)
  • Percussion
  • Sublist (while there may not be specific openings, all instruments are welcome to audition)

Interested musicians should contact Jennifer Meyer, the Orchestra Administrator.  Please prepare the excerpts found below.  Pianists that are interested should contact Jennifer and expect to receive audition requirements by email. If you are auditioning for a principal position, please also prepare one movement of a solo work.
