Bradley Smith is an eighteen-year-old senior at Clayton High School. He has studied with Angie Smart of the St. Louis Symphony orchestra for five years and has been a member of first violin section of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for three years. He was a member of the 2020 Missouri All-State Orchestra.

In 2021, Bradley won the University of Missouri-St. Louis Concerto Competition and was first runner-up in the Young Artists’ Concerto Competition of the Alton Symphony Orchestra.

Last year he was a member of the Amati Quartet of the Community Music School Preparatory Program at Webster University. His quartet advanced to the finals of the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition and during the summer performed at the Missouri Chamber Music Festival. 

In past summers, Bradley has studied at the University of Michigan Center Stage Strings, Meadowmount School of Music, and the University of Indiana Jacobs School of Music. 

Bradley will play the Sibelius violin concerto, first movement, in the April 24th concert.

Natalie Van Winkle is a senior at Gateway Science Academy. After studying violin for six years, she began the cello at age nine. She currently studies with Catherine Lehr Ramos. 

As a freshman, she was principal cellist in the Missouri Metro District 8 Honors Ensemble. For three years, she has been a member of the Missouri All-State Orchestra, becoming principal in 2021. Natalie was selected to play in the National Association for Music Education All-National Honors Symphony Orchestra. For three years, she has been in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra (Assistant Principal 2020-2021 and Principal 2021-2022). 

Last year she was a member of the Amati Quartet of the Community Music School Preparatory Program at Webster University. Her string quartet was a finalist in the 2021 Saint Paul String Quartet Competition. She has earned individual Gold Ratings at District and State Solo & Ensemble contests.

Aside from cello, Natalie enjoys baking and hiking. Natalie will play the first movement of the William Walton cello concerto for the April 24th concert.
