St. Louis Civic Orchestra is excited to announce its 76th season under the batons of Artistic Director Dr. Barry Ford<\/strong> and Assistant Conductor Asher Harris<\/strong>. Comprised of talented musicians from various walks of life, the Civic presents inspiring performances that engage audiences of all ages. The orchestra promotes musical education, fosters artistic growth, and provides an opportunity for local musicians to share their passion and talent with the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an effort to make live music accessible and available to everyone, all concerts are free to attend.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The season begins on October 25, 2025<\/strong>, at the Lee Theater in the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Missouri-St. Louis<\/strong>. The program will include Dvorak\u2019s<\/strong> Carnival Overture <\/em>and Respighi<\/strong>\u2018s Boutique Fantasque <\/em>and will feature the United States premiere of Rhapsody for Trumpet and Orchestra <\/em>by Mikis Theodorakis<\/strong>, with renowned German trumpeter Otto Sauter.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The orchestra\u2019s second concert will be on December 6, 2025<\/strong>, at Ritenour High School <\/strong>in Overland. On the program are Holst<\/strong>\u2018s Somerset Rhapsody<\/em>, Symphonic Dances from Fiddler on the Roof<\/em>, and a delightful selection of holiday music. A highlight of the evening will be ballet dancers performing selections from Tchaikovsky<\/strong>\u2018s The<\/em> Nutcracker.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. Louis Civic Orchestra\u2019s third concert will be on February 28, 2026<\/strong>, at the First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood<\/strong>. This concert will include Charles Ives<\/strong>\u2018 Unanswered Question<\/em>, Copland<\/strong>\u2018s Our Town<\/em>, Einojuhani<\/strong> Rautavaara<\/strong>\u2018s Cantus Arcticus (Concerto for Birds and Orchestra)<\/em>, and Grofe<\/strong>\u2018s Grand Canyon Suite<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At its fourth concert on April 11, 2026<\/strong>, the Civic will feature the winner(s) of the annual Florence Frager Young Artist Competition. <\/strong>This competition will be held in November 2025. Also on the program will be Shostakovich<\/strong>\u2018s lively Festive Overture<\/em>, Danse Bacchanale<\/em> by Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns<\/strong>, and Ravel<\/strong>\u2018s Mother Goose Suite<\/em>. Applications will be posted in the fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conjunction with the City of Overland\u2019s Community Parade<\/strong>, the orchestra will present its final concert on May 16, 2026<\/strong>, at Norm Myers Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
